HAMANO SUSHI

Andrew, aka "man-about-town", chose Noe Valley's Hamoano Sushi on Castro and 24th. The turnout was pretty good: Andrew, me, Julie, Rand, Lisa, Marcus (a new employee at my work) and Marcus' friend Shannon. Now I am not a big sushi fan, but I must say, what sushi I tried was DYNAMITE!! They had some pretty elaborate special sushi shaped like catarpillars, dragons and various otherwise inedible insects and animals. I had my old Japanese restaurant standby: teriyaki chicken and tempura. And both were very tasty. I can't remember how expensive it was because, quite frankly, the food was so good and we were having such a nice time, that I didn't even bother to notice!

The atmosphere was kind of cramped, but that's how sushi places should be I think. Parking was actually not too bad for Noe Valley.

The food rates a 9, while the service rates a 7.
