![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This month's supper club choice was Mika's, and she picked Kan Zaman. It's a middle eastern place located in the Haight near Shrader just a block from Amoeba Records (Oh yes!!). Well the turnout was low again: Mika, me, Julie, Rand and Lisa. The atmosphere was dark and fragrant (in a good way) and our waitress was attentive. We opted to sit on chairs even though you can sit on pillows and even partake in the hookah (sp?) or water pipe. We passed. The food was good, especially the appetizerers we all shared of falafel, pita bread, hummus, baba ganoush (sp??), and other middle eastern treats! The entrees were less good, but okay. I had a sandwich which was just so-so. The rest of the table felt the same. I would suggest getting a bunch of the appetizer plates and going the tapas route, sharing amongst the entire table. Parking is, of course, a nightmare. The food rates a 6, while the rich atmosphere and good service gets a 7.
