Well, we didn't even meet in September, for reasons beyond our control. (I went to Hawaii for a week and there were a ton of weddings to deal with!) So I thought I would just describe for you the meal I had at home on the last Tuesday of September.I arrived home promptly at 6pm, like I usually do, and found parking relatively quickly. I perused the fridge and found some tortillas and some cheese that was well on it's way to mold-ville. A few slices here and there and my chunk du fromage was as good as new. I grated generous portions into a few tortillas and nuked them for a good minute and a half. Meanwhile I drank the last of my milk right out of the container. Before I knew it, the familiar 'ping' of my microwave told me it was time to make a run for the border. I pulled out my quickie quesadillas and slathered some salsa and sour cream on top. But there was something missing. I poked around behind the cereal boxes on top of the fridge and...bingo!...I found what I was looking for: tortilla strips-restaurant style! I plopped down in front of the TV and had a delightful meal as I watched Entertainment Tonight with Mary Hart. A more delightful dinner companion I could not hope to find! When I was done I washed it all down with some of my room-mate's milk (I used a glass this time). All in all a delightful dining experience, and all for less than $2!
Matt's Kitchen's wide variety of reheatable treats and macaroni and cheese-type quickie meals rates an 8, while it's no frills/kick-back attitude towards attire and table manners rate a 9. |
