TON KAING

Okay, if this keeps up, we might as well just cancel the supper club altogether!! Attending our November dining engagement this time were Matt and Julie, Randy and Lisa, and Sean. (Are you sensing a pattern?)
Well, tough luck for those no-show, because Ton Kaing, on Geary near 22nd Avenue in the lovely Richmond district, was a delightful dining experience! Julie and I had some dim sum to start off with...and it was fantastic! It was the best I have had in the City. For the main dishes, the group had a variety of clay pot dishes and spicy green beans. The clay pots were good, but a little on the bland side. Although we did ask for mild, they just didn't have much kick. The green beans however were spiced just right and disappeared rather quickly.
The place is really brightly lit, so don't go for a romantic dinner unless you look terrific eating shrimp-stuffed crab claw under klieg lights. The parking situation can be atrocious out there in the Avenues (and I should know, I live there!) so come a bit early to allow for constant circling.

The food rates an 8, while the atmosphere and parking rate a 6.
